Systems Integrations

In today’s connected world, it is imperative that your enterprise systems work together to allow any user to have the data they need at the right place and at the right time. This puts an ever-increasing demand on the seamless integration of enterprise solutions. At EDI, we understand that successful system integration is as much about understanding the needs of the user and the context of the business process as it is about the technical solutions required to make two systems communicate.

There are several key considerations in planning to integrate an application into the enterprise. First, it is about understanding the needs of the user in the context of their use case. What is a user trying to do and what information do they need to do it. Next, you must identify what system makes the most sense for the user to perform that function and identify what data elements and sources are not readily present in that system. At this point, you can identify the key system touch points in the integration process. This approach will also give you context around the flow of this data and the frequency that the data needs to be updated. Finally, with these requirements in hand, you can look at the available integration capabilities that the two systems share to determine the right approach, i.e. (REST, Web Services, HTTP posts, Java Message Service (JMS) messaging, direct database exchange through interface tables, or XML or CSX flat files).

Over the years, EDI has developed many different types of interfaces centered around TRIRIGA and Maximo to many different types of external systems to leverage data and processes. These interfaces include, but are not limited to:

Geospatial Information Systems providing the spatial context of Assets and Work
  • Esri ArcGIS and Indoors
  • Autodesk Revit and BIM360
  • Google Maps and other public map APIs
  • And more!
Financial interfaces to major ERP systems
  • SAP
  • Oracle Financials
  • MUNIS
  • PeopleSoft
  • JD Edwards
  • And more!
Meter-based interfaces for Preventive Maintenance and Condition Monitoring
  • IoT Sensors
  • Control and Automation Systems
  • Data Historians
  • Fuel Systems
  • And more!
Service Request and Work Order interfaces for alerts or inspections
  • Customer Service Request Applications and Web Portals
  • EAM/CMMS Systems of External Service Providers
  • And More!
Master Record integration from External Systems
  • HR and Time and Attendance systems
  • User and Business Directory systems
  • eCommerce and Material Master systems
  • And more!

System integrations are another area where EDI is able to leverage its’ partnership with parent company Arora Engineers to capitalize on their diverse industry and systems knowledge in addition to our own direct experience. No matter how you are trying to integrate your data across multiple enterprise platforms and point solutions, let EDI show you the most efficient way. We can also perform organizational assessments to analyze your current data and business integration gaps and challenges and recommend improvements.
