Mid-Year Airport Maximo Users Group (AMUG) Update
August 27, 2009 (SEATTLE, WA) -- The Mid-Year Airport Maximo Users Group (AMUG) meeting was a huge success! Nine airports from across the continent were able to attend the meeting hosted at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Thursday August 20, 2009. These airports included ABIA, DIA, WCAA, McCarran, Vancouver, Edmonton International, Port of Seattle, LAWA and King County. With over 30 guests attending and several prominent guest speakers presenting, the mid-year meeting was extremely productive.
The Airport Maximo Users Group (AMUG) meets twice a year to share information with fellow Maximo users. An excellent networking opportunity to share ideas, the meetings also provide a way for AMUG members to gain valuable knowledge among airport peers. Case studies are presented by various airports and any new projects which relate to Maximo are also shared within the group. Maximo implementation successes, challenges and proposed solutions are all part of the discussions. This year, guest speaker Christine Herndon of the Herndon Solutions Group (www.herndon-group.com), presented a topic on Strategic Mutual Aid Resource Planning with Maximo that sparked a lot of interest with all the attending airports.
Bob Kingston, Assistant Director of Facilities at McCarran-Las Vegas International Airport and Chairman of AMUG, deemed this mid-year meeting "a great success" and is looking forward to an even bigger turnout at the annual AMUG meeting held at the IBM-Tivoli Pulse conference hosted in Las Vegas on Sunday, February 21, 2010.
