McCarran International Airport Wins 2007 Maintenance Best Practices from IBM
Robert Kingston, Assistant Director of Facilities Management for McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, NV, accepted the 2007 IBM Maximo® Maintenance Best Practices Award from Chet Talley, VP Worldwide Maximo Services during the General Session at '07 MaximoWorld in Orlando, FL. Also, on stage accepting on behalf of McCarran's implementation partner was Joseph T. Mahaz, CEO of EDI. Maximo® helped McCarran be more responsive, better prepared to address problems, and ultimately give passengers a user experience better than they get from other airports.
Working with EDI, McCarran International airport chose the IBM Maximo® asset and service management solution because it allowed them to unify the management of all airport assets - Facilities (including Terminal Ops, Landside Ops and Airside Ops) and IT assets, fully integrated with the service management capability of Tivoli. Another key to their decision was Maximo®'s support for ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) as well as Maximo®'s proven ability to seamlessly integrate with SAP and other key enterprise applications allowed McCarran to support the county-wide financial infrastructure without compromising best-in-class functionality. The airport now uses Maximo® for Facilities and IT asset management, and the IBM Tivoli Service Desk, part of the Maximo® unified platform, for IT service management.
