EDI is a Gold Sponsor at Aviation Day 2008 in Fort Myers, Florida

(ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA - October 20, 2008) -- The Lee County Port Authority is hosting AVIATION DAY 2008 on Saturday, November 15th from 10AM to 4PM at Page Field General Aviation Airport (FMY). EDI is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of this free, family-friendly event!

This year commemorates the 60th anniversary of the historical 1948-1949 Berlin Airlift and the Douglas C-54E "Spirit of Freedom". Aviation Day visitors will step back in time as they view a flying museum and memorial housed in the interior of this vintage WWII aircraft. In 1945, the rare and historical P-51D Mustang began its service at Page Field Army Base in Fort Myers - this vintage aircraft will also be on display.

In honor of the 60th anniversary of the Berlin Airlift, LCPA is partnering with The Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida to run a food drive at the event. We are encouraging everyone interested in attending to bring a non-perishable food item for drop off at the entrance.
